About Us

Diagnosed as a Type 2 diabetic in 2011, UCAAG Founder, Horace Neysmith, changed his diet and increased his exercise frequency to gradually work himself off of diabetes medication. All of the changes made were important but he felt that the awareness & education facets were huge keys.

Showcasing some of the country’s best freshman & sophomores, the Underclassman All-American Game (UCAAG) was created to increase awareness of the prevalence of diabetes and the importance of student athletes & others using their diet as a preventative measure.

As NIL and revenue-sharing reshape the basketball landscape, we’ve expanded our vision to meet the moment while staying rooted in our core mission of raising awareness and support for diabetes through the game we love. Our platform now includes an added focus on mental wellness and financial literacy, empowering our participants to think ahead, make smarter decisions, and build strong foundations for their futures both on and off the court.

“The ADA has stated that over half the population will be diabetic or borderline over the next 7 years. The UCAAG wants to be part of the solution.”
