Kanaan Carlyle staying the course

One of the difficult things to do as a player coming up from middle school ranks to high school is to stay in the Top 25 conversation. I’ve seen many players as high as Number 1 in the country, EARLY in the process, drop outside the top 150 as a senior. This happens for many reasons, including the natural development of players during those years and later visibility of many others. 2023 6-2 CG Kanaan Carlyle (Milton HS) has stayed in the conversation that is guard deep in Georgia and on the National level.

Carlyle is an athletic, attacking guard that doesn’t take plays off and takes pride on both ends of the floor. I love his toughness, motor and willingness to defend the best guard on the floor, always up for a challenge.

When trying to stay relevant in the elite level conversations you must continually show growth in areas once identified as a needed area of improvement. I watched Carlyle knock down jumpers this weekend and close it out by winning the three point shooting contest!  Expect him to continue working and raising his percentages and range from behind the arc. That will be a problem for defenders now exposed to his explosive first step.

Auburn Georgia Stanford on him the hardest but he has upwards of 22 offers in front of him.
