Diagnosed as a Type 2 diabetic in 2011, UCAG Founder, Horace Neysmith changed his diet and increased his exercise frequency to gradually work himself off of diabetes medication. All of the changes made were important but he felt that the awareness & education facets were huge keys.
Showcasing some of the country’s best freshman & sophomores, the Underclassman All-American Game (UCAG) was created to increase awareness of the prevalence of diabetes and the importance of student athletes & others using their diet as a preventative measure. The ADA has stated that over half the population will be diabetic or borderline over the next 5 years. The UCAG wants to be part of the solution. All net proceeds from the event will go to Junior Diabetes Research Foundation and the American Diabetes Association
Started in 2016, the Underclassman All American Game (UCAG) has had some of the nation’s top players, including Zion Williamson, this year’s top NBA Draft pick.
